Realtek has been introducing products incorporating ultra-wideband (UWB) technology (which is also referred to as "digital pulse wireless") and is also looking ahead toward digital television technologies. Realtek audio cards are OEM cards for a variety of computer manufacturers. For example, you may have a Realtek audio card such as Realtek High Definition Audio if you own a Toshiba Satellite notebook computer. Card readers from Realtek such as the RTS5168 and RTS5181 have taken card reading to a new level. For instance, the RS5168 integrates a Smart Card reader, NAND Flash card reader, IR receiver, and fingerprint reader. Combined with the RTS5181, Realtek anticipates a 70% or more market share in the built-in PC market. In 2007, Realtek reported sales of over $484 million. Realtek has built a solid reputation for providing IC products covering computer peripherals, networking, and multimedia. Current technologies are being adopted and developed further to take advantage of broadband communications and wireless applications.
